Marblehead High students to take stab at Steampunk version of ‘Sweeney Todd’ Marblehead Reporter, Oct. 30
Mrs. Nellie Lovett’s Pie Shop has seen many a stage, but come December, those that take a seat in Marblehead for the musical thriller “Sweeney Todd” will see something other than what Angela Lansbury did in the 1982 version.
Melding the punk look of hair and makeup with historical period costume
and industrial scenery is what is referred to as Steampunk, or
retro-futuristic. And under the direction of Steve Black and Amanda
Roeder, Fine Arts department students at Marblehead High School are busy
learning their lines and dance moves to perform “Sweeney Todd,” the
Steampunk musical. Performances will be held in the Marblehead High
