MHS is proud to be hosting Dramafest 2013 Preliminary Round on March 2nd

Dramafest is a competitive festival where regional high schools teams stage one-act plays and are rated for student acting and technical design. MHS is proud to host the preliminary round. Winners advance to the semi-finals for a chance to compete at the state level.

Look for more information soon on Marblehead's one-act entry, Candide.

To host this event we will need student volunteers who will host the other high schools and help organize and work the event.  We will also need parent volunteers above and beyond the cast parents.

This is a one-day only event and a great way to support MHS Performing Arts!

Look for more info soon on how you can help.

    Marblehead Reporter, Oct. 30

Mrs. Nellie Lovett’s Pie Shop has seen many a stage, but come December, those that take a seat in Marblehead for the musical thriller “Sweeney Todd” will see something other than what Angela Lansbury did in the 1982 version.

Melding the punk look of hair and makeup with historical period costume and industrial scenery is what is referred to as Steampunk, or retro-futuristic. And under the direction of Steve Black and Amanda Roeder, Fine Arts department students at Marblehead High School are busy learning their lines and dance moves to perform “Sweeney Todd,” the Steampunk musical. Performances will be held in the Marblehead High School auditorium.  Read more
